Artsy Pics From Today

Here are some of my artistic pictures from today.....I love them...hope you will too!

A Day on the Beach

Today we went down to spend some time on the beach. There was a MASS-3 Beach Party for the unit that Natalie's husband Jake is a part of. So we stopped by there for some free grub and horrible rap music. After making appearances we went back to the car and loaded ourselves down with beach gear and went to find us a little piece of beach for ourselves to claim for a few hours. The kids had a BLAST!!! They played in the water and dug in the wet sand, playing together well and having fun. Noah and Isaac were playing sink or float....where they see if they sand toys will sink or float in the waves coming in. The verdict is in they floated! Dylan is my afraid of water child and he was splashing and running and jumping in the ocean. There were a few sailboats out in the ocean, lots of boogie boarders and a few surfers. It was a beautiful day cloudy and on the verge of being muggy but not quite....great for splashing around in the water. In total there were at least 5 sandcastles built and two pretty deep holes dug....a success in any ones book!

We Have Arrived

Just to let you all know after a 23 and 3/4 hour day we have arrived safely in Oceanside at Camp Pendleton. We were treated to the most wonderful dinner of Pioneers Woman's Crispy Yogurt Chicken and Pasta Primavera....I am getting spoiled already. Eli and Joey have graciously given up their beds so that Dylan can sleep in Eli's and Ally just had to sleep in Joey's crib! Silly kids! More to come probably when I get home though!!!!

A SMELLy Situation!!!!!

So today playing with Ally I kept getting a whiff of something rather unpleasant. And don't ask me what made me immediately jump to this conclusion, but I was pretty certain she had something up her nose. I couldn't find a flashlight in the house and so I made the rounds to a few neighbors ending up at Mrs. Marie's house. She grabbed a flashlight and as I shined it up her nose I saw something that didn't look like a booger and didn't look like it belonged. So Mrs. Marie being a great friend and neighbor runs upstairs to get some tweezers. I let Ally hold the flashlight which made her less squirmy, also having Mrs. Marie there helped, Ally is always better for people that are not her Mommy. So I proceed to to slip the tweezers in her nose and pull out a wad of heavens only knows what! Here is the "thing" that was up there!
(Penny is for comparision only!)
Have a great day....and for those with grown up kids be thankful you don't have to deal with this anymore!!!!

Happy Birthday to.....Kaydi, Brian, and Dad.....Happy Birthday to you!

Saturday we celebrated Kaydi Belle, Dad Hotrum, and Brother Brian's birthdays with a family BBQ. We got there around 4 and started to eat about 20 minutes later a great spread of Chicken, Pork, and Brats plus chips, beans, and deviled eggs. After eating a yummy dinner we got the kids all dressed up to go in the pool. The kids loved playing in the pool splashing and playing with the bubbles we had set up next to it. Dad then announced that Ted the turtle was back and the search commenced through the raspberry bushes in the back to find him which after about 10 minutes Dad exclaimed that he had found him. So we proceeded to all gaze at him until he got so spooked he booked it out of there faster than I have ever seen a turtle move in my life! After all that excitement the kids went back and played in the pool for a little bit then we got them out dried off and dressed. Next came the rides around the block in the Model T. First was Dad and Brian. Then Dad, Brian, and Dylan. Next was Dad, Me, and Ally. Followed by Dad, Kaydi, and Grace. Then was Dad and his sister Laurel. Finally Dad, Darrin, and Dylan to finish out the ride segment of our night. Making our way inside we get all set up for the cake and the blowing out of candles. Followed by eating cake and ice cream. And finally on to the present opening! We wrapped the evening by letting the kids watch a Dora DVD. Then off to home and bed. Happy Birthday Dad, Kaydi, and Brian!!!!
