An Amazing Gift

I found out yesterday evening that my Grandma decided that I would be given my Great-grandmothers wedding ring set. My Great-grandmother is my hero, the one person in this world that I want to be like more than anything. She raised 13 children on her own, after the last child was born her husband left her. She later remarried and that is where this wedding set comes from. But to have the patience and strength to carry on and not give up and to raise 13 kids just amazes me. The thought that I get to teach my children about her and possible pass this ring set onto my daughter makes me well up inside with emotion. There are certain things that I can eat that to this day transports me back to the east coast to her little apartment, we have a homemade mac and cheese recipe that has been passed down, it is to die for! Also anytime I eat coffee ice cream....I am there with her talking about nothing that matters but she hangs on every word....she always made us feel like we had the world at our feet! I am blessed to be given this gift, now I will have a piece of her with me always!
